The Language of Flowers

You don’t have to be someone who studies floriography (the language of flowers) to know what flowers to give in different situations. Floriography has a history that goes back more than four hundred years and was popular in Europe during various times throughout history, and this is evidenced mainly through art and literature. Giving flowers is an act done from the heart, but combining this with floriography, you have the potential to convey more than a kind gesture. Here are a few selections:

Sympathy/Mourning - jonquil (also called daffodil), dark crimson rose, white calla lily, and other white flowers

Romantic Anniversary/Love - red roses, primrose, orchids, orange blossoms, red tulips, and stock

Acknowledgement of Friendship - iris, ivy, chrysanthemum, and yellow rose

Sweethearts - pink roses

Celebration - flower with bright colors, like sunflowers, roses, lilies, and daisies

I’m Sorry - roses, carnations, lilies, or the recipient's favorite flowers

Each of these flowers can be paired with different fillers to complete the bouquet and make it look much more elegant for the recipient. Floral arrangements can be sent boxed or in a vase.
